Karoo 2 powering off every 10 minutes when using Xert app
AnsweredI use the Xert app for indoor workouts. Recently my Karoo 2 has been powering itself down every 10 minutes unless I cancel it as shown in the linked article. I believe this may be related to the recent firmware update. I can't find any settings that will change the auto-off behavior.

Is this something that can be changed or am I stuck with the auto-off feature as-is for the time being?

Yes, I'm running an XERT workout on my indoor trainer when this occurs. Karoo is recording and workout is not paused. Unit will shut down every 10 minutes unless I cancel. This only recently started happening in the past week or so. Otherwise I've performed the same workout in same conditions almost daily for the past few months without this issue (boring I know but I'm a creature of habit).

Thanks for investigating this Ali.
My preference would actually be to allow the screen be turned off without the unit timing out after a period of time. I like to ride with my screen off in order to avoid focusing on the workout duration. I usually have XERT running in the foreground with screen switched off when riding indoors. Perhaps switching the screen off forces XERT to run in the background?

Hi all,
to me this seems to be a general problem: The device switches off automatically if you don't use the display/buttons for some time (10 min?) OR have one of the built-in apps running - that's what I observed. So, if a only side-loaded app is running (is XERT one?), the device will power down after some time. I'm using OsmAnd for tracking and I observed this behaviour after a recent update (~ February 2022).
My current workaround is to start the built-in tracking and pause it immediately, then switch to my app and use it as normal. This prevents the said behaviour. But it's not nice.
Automatic power-down might be useful but one should be able to switch it off.
