Reverse route in the hammerhead dashboard results in a jagged, unusable route

The original route, is relatively well routed, and originates from a gpx file. (happy to provide the gpx file upon request)


But when clicking reverse, the route becomes completely mangled. almost doubling back on itself in the top right, and there are several sections in the bottom left where the navigation just has me go down a street, to then make me go back the same way I came. The reversed route also makes me take longer detours over busier roads. This all seems unacceptable.


I do not want reverse route to calculate a new route along roughly the same points. I want reverse route to follow the exact same route back, with the only difference being that the arrows point in the opposite direction. I do not understand why hammerhead is even trying to come up with a different route in the first place.

FWIW this seems different from the reverse route logic on the hammerhead unit itself. That also has issues which I might make a separate post about, but they're not as  severe as the issues shown here.
