Group ride for Karoo is ready! Who wants to test?

Go to: https://karoo.codensity.eu

Create an account on the website (you manage your groups through the web - on the Karoo itself it wouldn't be comfortable), install the app on the Karoo and pair it to your account - and you're ready to go!

Main functionalities:

- see others from your group directly on your Karoo in the map view

- if something happens (e.g. you get a flat tire) you can press SOS button in the app and others will see SOS icon on the map with your location to help you

- for the teams - coach can have a view of all the riders in the group on the web - also in map view. He can see the parameters of the riders (speed, power, HR, cadence, distance). He also sees SOS sign if something happens.

- refresh rate can be set by the user (2/5/10/20/30/60 seconds) - I didn't test the battery drain in detail yet, but even with 2s refresh rate enabled it didn't go down faster than usually.

  Question about karoo 2 unit - how realised is connection, via gsm data or something other?

  Two ways:

  - GSM if you've got a SIM card inside your Karoo 2

  - Wifi (e.g. from Phone's hotspot)

  With Karoo 3 it might be also from tethered phone (via bluetooth) and Companion App.

  Love the idea, but unless there's also an extension available for Garmin and Karoo users, it will be hard to actually use. Every group ride I do has a mix of all three.

  I think you meant Garmin and Wahoo. Of course, it would be great to have all three in one system. Unfortunately only Karoo has an open eco-system for such functionalities. Garmin has its own group track, but you can't integrate with it. Wahoo doesn't have such a function at all and you can't create it.

  So better this than nothing - you can at least have a group ride with some of your friends from the group.

  Hi! This looks fantastic, thanks Piotr. Do you have any timeline for this to be in the Extensions Libary? I personaly don't have any issue sideloading an app, but that's a big NO for the rest of my mates.

  I didn't apply for the Extensions Library yet, I wanted first to have some test from the groups worldwide and the feedback to know if it's working ok or are there any bugs that need to be fixed before going live widely.

  I think that's wise. It's a pity i won't be able to test it because there's no way to convince my (Paleolithic) friends to do this "crazy IT stuff" X-D

  Is there a way to download de apk once you're registered? I'm logged in, but I cannot find a way to download it now (I didn't do it when I got the chance when I did de registry)
