I'm ex Garmin user. Like 99% of the Garmin user I guess we switched to Karoo for the famous Karoo navigation. The problem is that with the lastest updates rerouting is awful. It is so much Garmin, and I hate it. Please go back to what was Karoo, you are not on the right path with this rerouting.

  I don’t recall any routing changes in the software notes but to be fair i normally follow my own route without too much rerouting. Can you describe what is happening (eg gives a long reroute when you leave a route?) and how that changed since before the update? It’s possible someone might have a tip to help.

  I haven't noted anything changing recently really, but I had many many occasions where re-routing was terrible (suggesting to ride through a forrest on narrow trails on my roadbike, even though there was a reasonable connection available, just slightly longer).

  Apologies if you already know this but each profile has routing preferences. So make sure it’s set to pavement for regular road riding. I assume (I don’t know) that this effects rerouting

  Bonjour

  J'ai exactement le même problème, depuis toujours. Je fais du vélo de route et lorsque je sort de mon parcours, le réacheminement me fais passer par des routes non goudronnées, ou des sentiers.

  Je précise que j'ai l'option "route goudronnée"

  Thanks @Simon Lockwood, but I have selected the correct option. I was in touch with support because of this any they acknowledged that the Karoo will re-reroute regardless of the chosen option, if they detour is "too long". First of all, the threshold appears to be **very** small, and secondly, this implementation is pretty annoying: if I have a road bike, I cannot ride through the forrest with muddy paths no matter how long the alternative would be. Thus, it would make more sense to simply suggest a U-turn in this case (detour too long).

  That is annoying and I share your assessment. The problem is that a reroute might start off appropriate then turn into the wrong type of track so then you are really stuck. Fortunately for me I rarely use that functionality as if I miss a turn in the countryside I’ll see that and do a u turn anyway. It would be quite logical to use the main routing preference and if that was an enormous detour it would be obvious on the unit then you can just choose a u turn instead.

  Unfortunately I cannot upload picture's. My problem is like this: I have a corner and a clear shortcut just tu cut the corner and go ahead to meet my preplanned route, but the Karoo is making an U turn on the right away from my route which is on the left and is taking me few meters back on my already passed route. Hope you can understand my explanation.
