Possible Feature and The Question about Power Conservation ...
AnsweredI've seen one or more posts on whether "crowd sourced" data on road conditions could provide communities with encouragement for mitigation or simply let cyclists know to avoid certain routes. Wondering if Karoo gets detailed enough data from the on-board 3-axis accelerometer to detect road smoothness (potholes) and report automatically? Most of us try to avoid potholes but I have to believe there is a "smoothness" metric available from the rides.
Separately, my Karoo2 shut down mid-ride yesterday at 2 hours 33 minutes (4 hour 13 minute ride). My Apple Watch kept recording so I captured the ride but missed some key data such as Wahoo HR and Power. Also missed getting Varia Radar input. As a result, I went through all the power management recommendations and made adjustments to the settings. I'm now testing the unit at home (it appears to consume power at a rate far faster than advertised) But it would be great if I could find a list of the high-to-low power drains. For instance, I control the ION headlamp and Garmin Varia Tail/Radar (appear separately ion the menu) via the Karoo ... obviously need the Varia settings, but could drop the head/tail light control. What impact on power consumption does that have? Similarly I can likely power live tracking via Bluetooth to phone or via the SIM card ... what is the power consumption difference? Same for synchronization ... should I default to SIM card or use wifi and then turn the wifi off when on the road? A logic diagram for power consumption would be most helpful. I've seen a few requests similar to this and wonder if there is a resource to answer these types of questions. Thank you!

Thanks Gerard ... helpful.
I started my Karoo this morning and left it running, connected only to the built-in GPS, ION headlight and Varia Radar/Tailight sensor (both charging on my desktop). No HR nor power, etap, etc.. Under settings it was connected to wifi, bt audio, mobile data (sim), no battery save, display at 65%, with live tracking active. Profile was "got hills" (the map) with no movement. It drained the battery from fully charged (100%) to "dead" in five hours. I'll do a factory reset, adjust some settings and see if that improves battery performance.
