Hi Carlos, some regions on the Dashboard maps may not have the most accurate distance and elevation numbers, for this we suggest using other platforms such as RIdewithGPS, Strava or Komoot to build the route, You can then import it on the Karoo by connecting the account.

Hi Ali. Why are they not accurate? It is just another reason that the dashboard is pretty much not worth bothering with. Having to use other software to create routes is a bit of an insult to be honest with you!

None of the platforms are accurate at all - Try Garmin Connect it is woefully out!! a recent ride I did was:

RWGPS - 90.2m and 6,892ft of Ascent route exported and imported into the following:

Hammerhead Dash - 90.2m and 6,882ft of Ascent

Garmin Connect - 90.2m and 6,183ft of Ascent

Strava Routes - 89.46m and 7,886ft of Ascent

Real Ride Data - 91m (although probably near the real distance as we had to cycle to hotel!) - 7,772ft of Ascent

My Garmin 1030 head unit recorded the same ride at 91m and 7,129ft of Ascent (I was trialing the HH K2 in the 45 day period hence both units)

I always take the elevation gain with a pinch of salt on any estimated routes for fuelling etc, as an ex-Garmin Connect user I'd add 25% on any ride over 100km/60m and 15-20% below - but that mught be due to the lumps around my normal riding area!  With the HH K2 I generally add 10% at present.

I download routes from wikiloc or strava, and import them into hammerhead, when I do the routes, data comes out well above the original track, I'm talking about extra kilometers.
