What a bummer!
Yes a bummer but how we can solve this! Can the solution be to develop asap a wifi connection unit to replace shimano's version within the DI2 system, that captures the same data and functionality as the shimano's EWF 011 and communicates effortless with HHK2. So it becomes an easy matter of swap. SRAM should compensate us by a replacement policy for every EW-WU111 and swap for free for their unit......too simple?

Hmm... I don't think SRAM owes you anything here. Shimano is very lame for forcing the removal of the functionality, but this all feels like a lot more drama than there needs to be.
I know we're all different, but out of curiosity - what's the Di2 data good for anyway? I'm genuinely curious :)

@Brian - thanks, I didn't actually think about the extra buttons for switching screens. That could be quite useful. Can I ask - is the button still usable for shifting as well? How does that work? Or would that be a dedicated 3rd button in addition to 2 other buttons used for shifting?

@Petr for me its the programmable buttons on the hoods, which I think is great for safety and functionality of the head unit. Secondly the info about the gear is useful for me riding in a very hilly environment and using the semi-synchronised option of DI2. Knowing that I want some hills to stay on the big chainring. Knowing in a glimpse that I am on the pivoot of chaninging chainrings with my next gearshift down (lower) prevents me for that. Thirdly knowing the battery level in a glimpse, and the changing of the shift mode are both easier by the head unit than via the control unit. However less of an issue.

@petr I am a fan of the HH karoo2 and would definitely not choose Shimano di2 knowing what I know now. Despite that the di2 is a very robuust system I would go for a system that also allows you to connect to a Mac (di2 only connects to a windows machine :-( ) and to the HH karoo2 as to what I am used too. Not sure yet what the next best alternative is….
