ANT+/BLE Tyre pressure with SKS Airspy not working

Hello,

I wanted to pair my SKS Airspy tyre pressure devices with my Karoo 2.

Neither ANT+ or BLE is working. The Karoo 2 seems to not find these devices.

Is this a known problem? How to solve it?

  Robert, The Karoo 2 should pair with any ANT+ enabled sensor that supports the open ANT+ standard TPMS. While the SKS Airspy is ANT+, it does not use the standard protocol that would allow it to work with other head units like the Karoo 2. It only works with Garmin as per their website because it requires their app and data field to communicate with the Airspy sensors.

  Seems that is correct. Just talked to the SKS support and they did varify that at the moment there is no standard TPMS protocol for ANT+ and tyre pressure systems. They will get in contact with Hammerhead and would love to talk about a solution because they already got several questions about the Karoo 2 from the user base ;)

  Hello.

  I'm the next one to be disappointed with incompatibility between SKS Airspy system (that I've recently got as a birthday present) and Karoo 2. Would be very happy if you fix it somehow together with SKS. Both would benefit imo.

  Got the answer from SKS support - they may not tell when or if the Airspy sensors are gonna support Karoo 2. Seems like there is much in your hands Hammerhead guys!

  Hi All, We support the standard ANT+ Tire Pressure Sensor spec as available and published through the ANT. If SKS sensors don’t use this standard profile and use a closed protocol, they won’t work with Karoo right now.
