    Despite shimano's history of not giving their end users any consideration, signed. 👍

    @Hammerhead: Can you please pin this post on top of the forum??
    - I can’t understand that you don’t support this as much as possible!
    Now that 105 also goes DI2, I would start to put a bit more attention on this point… as always, just my two cents…

    PS: I am still using your old software to not loose DI2 functionality…!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Not that I think Shimano gives a damn. Heck, they continue to discriminate against macOS users. Honestly, my next setup will not be Shimano.

    Why not petition this through ANT+ Alliance? They are the owners (via Garmin) that own the actual patent. One of the user agreements for its use is free and unrestricted application of the technology. As Shimano is using Ant+, they are in violation of this agreement with the owner of Ant+. I would wager that now that SRAM owns HH, they just don’t care to fight to make it work with their rival component company. Especially now that 105 Di2 is priced far more affordably than any SRAM road AXS group

    They use a private ANT protocol.

    Private Ant is a derivative of Ant+ and falls under the same open source restrictions. I know it didn’t come from DC Rainmaker, but because he hasn’t explained it that way doesn’t mean it isn’t true. I don’t get paid to post pretty reviews. Any version of Ant+ they use is subject to this regardless of what they name it. Find me a license with the FCC or the Patent office that is issued for Ant Private.

    private ANT :

    A private network key provides the greatest level of security, and is suitable for proprietary applications where interoperability is not required or desirable. A private network key provides full control over who can join the network and who can not; it also offers flexibility in terms of defining your own channel parameters and data format. Anyone with a private network key has total control over the network and can select who gets the key.
