The unit taking forever to crunch new routes used to be the rule but at least for me this improved a lot through firmware updates (you are using the latest version, right?) maybe half a year ago. Since then, there’s only been one time I had to stop and wait for the route to get ready (the first 5 mins or so I was able to do without one). Wondering if there is something with specific routes that makes it get stuck?

Yes, I'm using the latest version. The K2 of my girlfriend is showing the same behavior. The length of the route does not make any difference, if I create a 200 meter route in the HH dash it still takes ~4 minutes to be usable after K2 startup.

I wonder if it's related to the location. I'm living in the Netherlands. In a previous version when selecting a route that was still loading, the K2 would mention that no suitable maps for that region could be found.
In recent versions simply nothing happens when you try to select such a route...

You might want to check that you have downloaded all the recommended offline maps (“nearby maps”, including ones beyond the area you actually need) to see if that helps? Yeah, it used to be even more weird, earlier it would not load a route in/near Helsinki at all for me unless I also had a map of western Russia and Norway for whatever reason.

Actually, maybe better try deleting and downloading again even the map files you already have, just in case there is something wrong with them.

Yes, all nearby maps are present including the map of the Netherlands. I live in the north far from any borders.
I'll try to delete the maps and redownload them. Thanks for the suggestion!

Can confirm that it takes several minutes before I can actually use a newly uploaded route. This, in conjunction with having to jump through hoops with a WiFi hotspot and using a progressive web app on your phone to plan a new route, is why I never use the Karoo to navigate anywhere I didn't plan.

Compare to the Edge Explore where you can simply enter an address to be routed to it, or use the Bluetooth connection to upload new routes ... It's a bit strange that this still isn't an option on this 2-year old device. And it runs Android, which supports all of this out of the box.

Have the same issue. Loading a new route on the HH Karoo2 takes at least 5 minutes which is much to long in my opinion

Hi All,  "Sync" option on the Karoo 2 was added in the past release. You can find it by clicking on the 3 dots under the routes app. This helps sync starred and pinned routes from 3rd party services connected on the Dashboard.
