Sync through phone
AnsweredIt's absolutely absurd that the Karoo2 can't sync through a phone.
1. The Personal Hotspot is shown as a 'WiFi' connection but the Karoo2 device will not connect to the internet through the Personal Hotspot.
2. The Karoo2 connects via Bluetooth to the iPhone for various messaging options and 'Other apps' yet it can't even sync to/through the iPhone for it's own purposes, i.e. route download, ride upload.
This is BASIC functioning! I love everything else about the Karoo2 but the lack of basic connectivity has me recommending, and considering a return to, Garmin bike computers. I can't even begin to comprehend that I write that since I absolutely can't stand Garmin.
If I've missed how to sync the Karoo2 to/through an iPhone please forgive me and advise exactly how to make it happen.

@Nordstrom: We appreciate you sharing your experience with us. I am happy to address these issues that you have reported.
- Ideally, Karoo 2 can connect to internet over a personal mobile hotspot. Since you are unable to do that, may I now the SIM that you are using on your phone and its specification? If you get a chance, could you please connect your Karoo 2 to a different Wi-Fi network or mobile-hotspot and see if that works. This helps us to isolate the issue further.
- As of now, the Phone connectivity with iPhone or Android is only to get the call/text notifications and ride uploads won't happen by connecting your Karoo 2 to your Phone over Bluetooth.

Tethering to the internet over the Phone's Bluetooth is something in our development Roadmap to address these issues but right now, we do not have a concrete timeline to share it with you.

The Karoo2 connects fine through regular WiFi. The Karoo2 will not connect to the Internet via any personal hotspot.
Instead of going through the bother of tethering though BT, just enable the ability to use a personal hotspot as a regular WiFi connection. It's displayed in the OS as such.
I have an iPhone 13 with a regular SIM card, but I've tried a series of iPhones and mobil connections.

Hi Nordstrom, this is already enabled on the OS side and many users already make use of it. It would be good to troubleshoot the issue on your Karoo 2 over a support ticket, so we can share the details without making it public. I have created a ticket on your behalf with some follow up questions.
