Feature Request: New numeric field - Distance to next POI
AnsweredSummary: A numeric field that shows the distance to the next POI while riding a route.
Details: I typically ride old familiar routes where, in the past before I tried routes and turn-by-turn prompts, I would try to remember to hit the lap button when starting a long segment. Because I know the length of each segment, it gave me a sense of exactly how far along I was on each bit. It's not critical information, but it helped to satisfy my inner data nerd.
The turn-by-turn distance to next turn is handy but it doesn't always match up to what I consider a segment of my route. For example, a major intersection where I'm not making a turn. And some routes turn several times during a segment.
Nav to POI is also handy, but the route it picks doesn't always match the route I am riding. Plus it's not practical to use if my route has several POI's.
Just to be clear, this is a simple data field and not a new map display or turn by turn feature.
We already have "distance to end of route". This would be like that, only better.

While this has been marked Answered, I don't think the current cue sheet implementation fills this request — we all want to see the Distance Remaining to POI from current location along the route, but the cue sheet only shows the POI distance from previous cue.
I made a new request for distance remaining to POI in the cue sheet, which perhaps would also include a data field since Distance Remaining as shown at the bottom of the cue sheet is also a data field you can have on your data pages:

I've added this feature as part of my routegraph extension: https://github.com/timklge/karoo-routegraph

In addition to the numerical fields, it adds an alternate elevation profile that features POIs and climbs. It's supposed to be a temporary solution until Hammerhead improves the native POI features.

Thanks timklge for the post. I do have your extension on my hammerhead, but I often don;t use it because of the need for an active internet connection. I don't have a SIM in my Karoo and on my long events I am trying to conserve battery on my phone and karoo, so don't hotspot... But when I do your extension works well.
