Take advantage of customizing Battery Save Mode on Karoo. You can also turn Battery Save Mode "ON" by default for any profile under your profile settings. By default, Battery Save Mode is OFF.
Open the profile for which you want to customize the Battery Save mode settings.
Turn "ON" Battery Save mode.
You can toggle Battery Save ON or OFF from the Control Center.
Here are the steps to customise your Battery Save Mode on the Karoo:
- On the Home screen, click on the "Apps" button.
- Click on the "Settings" app.
- Scroll down and select "Battery Save".
You can configure the screen timer duration under Battery Save settings for the screen to stay awake after an event triggers your screen on. By default, the screen will stay awake for 35 seconds after an event.
You can create your own battery save experience by altering the configuration of the "Screen On Triggers":
For Lap, In-ride alerts, and Phone Notification, you can choose between 'Off' or 'On'. See the below example:
- Off: The screen will never turn on if a new lap is triggered on your Karoo.
- On: The screen will turn on if a new lap is triggered on your Karoo.
For Auto pause/resume, Climber drawer, Navigation Cues, Strava Live Segments, and On/off route, Radar senses vehicles, and Workout interval, you can choose between "Off', 'On event', or 'Duration of event". See the below example:
- Off: The screen will never turn on if a climb is detected.
- On event: The screen will turn on if a climb is detected and turn off based on your configured "Screen Off Timer".
- Duration of event: The screen will turn on if a climb is detected. It will stay on for the duration of the climb.
Advanced Battery Savers (New Karoo only)
The items are high savers. Turning these on will save high amounts of battery.
Slower Processing:
When battery save mode is on, the processing speed of your Karoo will be reduced. This results in slower screen responsiveness of items such as re-routing, loading a route, and general speed of the Karoo.
Reduce Max Brightness:
The ambient light sensor will be turned on and its brightness will be capped. You have 3 different options.
Holding down or long press on the battery save icon in
the Control Center will take you to the Battery Save configuration menu.
