Extensions: Self-Service for Developers

Hey Developers. Below are the steps to make your application available to all Karoo riders in the Extension Library. 

1. Create a developer account at https://dashboard.hammerhead.io
2. Once you’ve created your developer account, click on this link to enable the developer settings menu for Extensions in your developer account. https://dashboard.hammerhead.io/developer/signup

• Once your developer settings are enabled, please fill out the contact information, which will be used to sign an SDK licensing agreement with SRAM.

Testing your Application:

• You can test your application by adding a new Extension in the settings menu and adding a URL to a valid application manifest. 
• After adding your application manifest, your app will automatically appear in the Extension Library on all Karoo devices that are signed in to your developer account.

Submitting your Application:

• When your application is ready, you can submit your app for approval by SRAM.
• Please note that it can take a few weeks for SRAM to respond to your application request. 

Approving your Application:

• As previously noted, making your app available in the Extension Library will require you to sign an SDK licensing agreement.
• Your submission will remain pending until the licensing agreement has been signed by both parties.
• After the agreement has been fully signed, the app approval process may take several weeks to complete.
• The status of your submission can be viewed in the Extension settings menu in your developer account.

Updating your Application:

• Once approved, Karoo will pull the latest APK from your application manifest. To update your APK on Karoo, you can update your APK in the manifest, and riders will be prompted to update the App in the Extension Library on Karoo.
• It is the developer's responsibility to update their users on the latest changes to their application.
