Connect my Specialized Turbo Levo with Karoo 2...
CompletedWould be fantastic to connect my Specialized turbo levo with Karoo 2 and control the % of the battery and the differents types of riding like I did with my last Garmin device. I hope you introduce this option in the future. Thanks!!

I’ve had my Karoo2 around a month now, so much better than my Garmin Edge 1000.
I’ve just taken delivery of an Orbea Rise without a display. Would absolutely love to be able get the E8’s battery level displayed on the Karoo2. I’m faced with either buying a £128 display, a Garmin watch or waiting out in the Hope you folks manage to integrate .

New to E-biking (like, 24 hours new!) but have had the Karoo2 for about 6 months and LOVE it! To be able to see the battery levels and other info derived from the Shimano EP8-RS motor, as fitted to the Orbea Rise, would be awesome. I don’t normally have Bluetooth enabled on the Karoo2 to extend the battery life, but this feature would make that a no-brainer and I’d live with the battery drop. Come on Hammerhead…. Make it so!

Btw - I just posted on the hammerhead github asking if they would be interested in facilitating me writing this as a plugin. If they are I'm happy to give it a shot.

Shimano recently asked Hammerhead to remove the functionality to connect Karoo to the Shimano Di2 components via Bluetooth, as Hammerhead were recently purchased By SRAM, a direct competitor to Shimano. The chances of Hammerhead getting approval to allow the Karoo2 access to the Shimano EP8 motor now seem further away than ever. Hmph.

David I couldn't agree more with you, since I got my Karoo 2 to replace my Garmin Edge 1000 I've only managed to to get one other rider in my (now) 16 strong MTB Group (13 Turbo Levo's and 3 Cube's) to move over from Garmin. I'm in the tech world work wise and they all asked me to load up the Garmin side so that they can see the battery (3rd party booster's as well) remaining plus what riding profile they're in. They simply won't move until it's done!!!
Equally 2 of us have the new 2022 Turbo Expert's with the new display but for fast technical rides it's too low down to be able to glance at whereas the Karoo 2 is out front so to speak and immediately visible.
This would be such a great thing for Hammerhead to introduce for Specilalized e-bikes and the Garmin implementation is fiddly at best.

... and to to add if they could build in things like range remaining from calculating distance covered, speed etc that would be really great e.g. using as much e-bike data as possible so you have e-bike fields as options on the profiles. Cadence for example is a good step in the right direction but there could be so much more!!!

Mike, The Shimano EP8 would also be supported by this feature (it also uses the standard ANT+ LEV ebike profile). Which is an 'open' spec and not covered by any Shimano NDA. The Shimano shifting that just got yanked was ANT (not ANT+) and a private protocol that according to dcrainmaker Hammerhead got access to via a license from Shimano (rather than clean-room reverse engineering). So Shimano was able to be dicks and revoke the license. They wouldn't have an ability to 'revoke' license in this case.
I'll wait to hear back from Hammerhead before making a LEV plugin using their SDK (hopefully they are already coding one and I won't need to ;-) ) -
Just to update: I talked with a kind Hammerhead eng on github - alas, the current Karoo SDK doesn't provide ANT access so I can't add LEV support as a plug-in. I think people will need to keep hoping that it gets high enough in Hammerhead's queue to implement. I did read the ANT+ LEV protocol docs and it looks super simple to implement when they eventually get around to it.

It's about 2 years ago that this question came up, and I'm now also one the Specialized Creo Turbo owners that would like to see his battery% in the H2 display.
@Hammerhead told here that this would take some time, but come on, 2 years !?!? when is this coming ? ( or did i missed something and is it availible but cannot find it ?)
