Without HH-account most features are not working/available, without internet other things fail completely
AnsweredI was digging around a long time when i tried to add a route, change a route, add a profile or adding a new screen to an existing profile. Nothing of that functions worked! At last i found that i need an account to get that things working! Why?
When i am somewhere without internet (even no cell, which is very common in germany), i am not able to use the turn by turn navigation! The K2 refuses to find any address! Even with the map downloaded! Annoying! What are the offline maps are for, when the k2 refuses to find any address without internet?
Is all that necessary? Please could you change that behaviour?
So when i am without internet, the same happens as when being logged out. Nothing of the needed things work!

Hi Fahr, Thank you for your feedback. You should be able to create the profile, but for the route sync and search for address - you do require the internet connection. Once you have the offline map, you can create the route on the Karoo via waypoints and it helps you with the re-route and route to POIs. As of now, there are no plans to change this structure - but we will share your feedback with the team.

Late answer, i was away...
Sorry for telling you, that your answer is not really true nor helpful. I cannot create any route without internet-connection, the routing doesnt find any direction!
I start "add route", add the present location, which is shown on map.
Add next direction is followed by the line to enter a direction, but whatever i enter, it always tells me "failed to get/find direction" (Dont have the real text at hand). So without direction no routing.
Software-error, because i have offline-maps downloaded.
At last, if you say, "you do require the internet-connection", you should mention that clearly at your homepage to make clear that without internet-connection the customer gets an expensive doorstopper...
Sorry for being so angry, but most features are not working without internet-connection.

The method which Ali refers to set a destination or a series of waypoints by long pressing the points on the Karoo map. Typically you will need to unlock the manual scrolling of the map by pressing the lock circle icon. You can long press a place and the Karoo will produce a route to this place, and then you can add further points in a similar way. What you can’t do it to search for a place by name, which I agree would be convenient.
What you can do, if you have a suitable smartphone is to start a personal hotspot and connect the Karoo to that when you want to produce a route by searching for a place. This works well, and then you can turn off the hotspot.
Finally, my experience is that the ‘long press’ route produces a better / quieter router than the internet-connected route, which seems to favour car-friendly routes.
I hope that helps.

I am currently having the same issue with offline maps since the last update. My wife also has a Karoo 2 and she has the same problem. We both get a no internet pop up that covers the icons at the bottom of the screen to make a route. After picking the waypoints the screen just reverts back to the app screen. What's the fix?
