Adding a new route while outside?

I've had a few situations where my ride ended at a different location. I wanted to create a route back home from the unexpected location. I got the message that I was not connected. I don't have a sim card in the unit, but my iPhone was connected to the Internet and connected to the Karoo2. I did to to my online account and tried to add a route there. I just got a blank screen. I gave up and used Google Maps to get me home. That does not make sense to me. Am I doing something wrong? I've not used the Karoo 1, so perhaps there is something everyone knows, etc.

  Karoo app in phone is not doing internet over BT tethering.

  In other words, you don't have internet connectivity on Karoo 2 unless it's connected to wifi or you have SIM card in it.

  You don't need a SIM card or, indeed, any kind of network connection for this. The Karoo 2 is able to route you to home providing you've set your home location as an Account Level POI in the Dashboard or on your Karoo.

  Thank  you. I had not stumbled across the route home option. That is exactly what I need.
