    Hi Jeff,

Thank you for putting up this post and pointing out the confusion here, I have advised my team to make the wording more clear on our articles.

Your findings are in fact correct, The home icon or your place of interest will be found on the Map during a ride or when you have a map screen open in a profile.

The ride app is the in ride navigation screen. The rides option on the Home Screen is your historical rides

Hi Colin - thanks for reply.    Observe that this is confusing phraseology.   'Ride' vs 'rides'.   At least, it had me confused.   I thought all the apps were along the bottom.  'Ride' isn't stand-alone like he others.  so not visbily accessible.

I expect one of the HH team will observe your comments. If it has been a common confusion, maybe they will change the wording.

I guess they would have done a pile of UX so I guess I'm just easily confused. Either that or their 'persona' is different from  me  - middle-aged distance cylists who can afford kit like this and has already used a smartphone (and run out of battery - never again), and then bought and returned both a Garmin 1030 and a Wahoo Roam because I want a great screen (wahoo not) and focus on navigation rather than fitness (garmin not).
