Software updates prevent bicycling
AnsweredI received my new Karoo 2, updated the software, connected it to my WiFi and to the sensor on my bike. The first ride went well. When I booted up the computer the second time, it asked me to enter the passcode for my WiFi again. When I did, it when into a 20-minute software update automatically. Then, the computer made me sign in (again) to my Hammerhead account. Then I had to pair the sensors on my bike once again. Does this device not have a memory? Does Hammerhead really expect that I spend 30 minutes initializing my Karoo before every ride?

Hello Dave,
This is not normal behavior for the Karoo 2. I am sorry for that inconvenience.
With it making you input the wifi credentials and pair all the sensors again, it sounds as if the device performed a reset and the delay was downloading all of the maps and user data again. It typically should not do this without you initiating it, but a hard reset generally clears all error logs and corrects any corrupt files by reinstalling the software.
Have you had the opportunity to ride again since? did you have a similar experience? If you continue to experience such behavior or any other issues, please write to us at support@hammerhead.io to open a support ticket. We will gladly look into this.
