Live segments limit/Cap
CompletedThanks for:
- Making a great product with a quick and clear touchscreen that actually works
- adding 30s VAM
Suggestion:
Strava live segments > the 100 cap is not proving enough for me and I really wouldn't like to remove segments off my Strava list. I understand the limitation is not in the Karoo but more in Strava's API and all headunits have the same limitation.
Is this limit going to be increased in the foreseeable future, or else could it be made possible to filter the list in the Hammerhead dashboard (so that I can pick the ones I'll use in the coming ride/weeks/months)? So all the 500 or so starred segments will sync with the dashboard, and then I just turn on and off to a max of 100. Strava happy, we happy.

Hi All, after yesterday's software release you should be able to sync unlimited live segments on your Karoo.

Hey all!
Thanks for reaching out - we're glad to hear you're enjoying the Karoo & a few of the most recent feature updates!
At this time I do not have an update to the SLS 100 limit cap to share. However, there is another thread which has the latest from our team & will continue to be updated.
Please refer to: Live Segments 100 Limit Update
Please keep providing regular suggestion & feedback! We appreciate this.

Yesterday I added more segments to "Favorites" and synchronized with "Wahoo Roam".
I currently have 606 starred segments.
The movie (consists of two parts, because I forgot to switch the mode from 4K to regular FHD, and 4K has a time limit). On Strava I have 30 cards (each has 20 segments) and on the 31st card there are 6 segments - a total of 606 segments on Stravie.
The video shows the "Roam" counter scrolling - right? :))Conclusion - it is not Strava that limits the amount of SLS, but the platform of the meter manufacturer / its software.

Hi All, after yesterday's software release you should be able to sync unlimited live segments on your Karoo.
Hello Ali.
Today, after updating yesterday's firmware to the newest (v1.210.1045) several more segments appeared on the list.
I did "Options / Sync segments" a few times but on the list I have only 195 live segments from Strava. Let me remind you, on Stravie, I have 620 (six hundred and twenty) segments marked with an asterisk.Seeing the limitation, despite the alleged lack, I decided to do "Disconect account Strava", counting that after re-pairing the "Strava" account it will start downloading segments, but unfortunately - there are still only 195 segments in "Karoo2".
But I have a feeling that after pairing "Strava" with "Karoo2" again, the previous segments were in ... cache (if any) because they were listed very quickly in "Karoo2".Ali, do you have any idea what to do to have ALL segments in "Karoo2" on the latest firmware?
greetings

All,
Please also remember that only segments with > -0.25% gradient will NOT be synced to the Karoo. See:
https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360051580494--Strava-Live-Segments-
So, you may have several hundred starred segments in Strava but only those with a gradient of > -0.25% will be synced to your Karoo. This is a Strava limitation and nothing to do with Hammerhead.

I know and know the limit "-0.25%" in Stravy segments that were introduced probably two / three years ago.
But for example, "Wahoo" synchronizes such segments as much as possible and they are in the meter (you can see it in the video I posted above) - but the meter itself does not start them when we start such a segment with a "-0.25%" slope. But okay, I checked my whole list and I have 18 (eighteen) negative segments on it (I even include -0.1%).
Moving on, I found the "Live segment" in Strava 4 (four) segments from VirtualRide.mathematically: from 620 of all segments I will subtract 18 with a negative gradient and 4 from VR are the correct segments I have at my disposal: 598 (five hundred ninety-eight).
But "Karoo2" only displays 195, not 598.
How do I display all 598 segments?greetings

I made another attempt:
- I have removed the link between "Karoo2" and the "Strava" account,
- I made HardReset "Karoo2",
- after restarting and logging into my account in "Hammerhead", I linked the "Strava" account with "Karoo2",
- synchronized "Segment stars".
In the list of segments in "Karoo2" after this whole process, there are still only 195 segments and there should be 598 of them (as in Strava after subtracting segments with a slope -0.25%).Summarizing:
"Karoo2" after the latest update displays more than 100 segments, but certainly not all that we have marked in "Strava".
greetings

I want to confirm the prior comments. I do not believe that the 100-segment limit is a Stave API issue. I currently use a ELEMNT Bolt 2 and have over 2,000 starred segments. They all pop up as I near the segment without having to use the time-consuming, manual un-star / re-star process. I moved to the Bolt specifically because Garmin also applied the same 100 segment limit. Also, staring and un-starring did not solve this on my Garmin as segments showed up that were not mine - not even in my geographic location. As a result, I use two head units when riding. The Bolt for segments and mapping (due to the maintenance free easy syncing of all of my routes in RwGPS). And the Garmin for my main display and it's integration with Windfield.
