The lack of this feature has made me nervous since buying the Karoo.  Online services have outages, I'm fine with that.  What I'm not fine with is my expensive bike computer turning into a brick as a result.  It's good that it's possible to get rides off the device without relying on the dashboard, but we need the matching functionality to get routes onto it.

The HH dashboard outage was relatively short compared to what we saw with Garmin.

H Jeffrey, Paul: First of all, sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you due to the server outage. We totally agree that the ability to upload a GPX file to the Karoo directly could be a valuable enhancement for us to add and we expect to see this feature on the Karoo soon. Right now, we are not committing ourselves to a dedicated timeline but this is something in our Roadmap.

Hi,  it's been over a year now - is there any update when we will be able to upload a GPX file to the Karoo 2?  Thanks

Is this still not possible? My wahoo has broken and I was considering a karoo as a replacement, but if I have to use a cloud app to load a simple gpx file then it's off the list

@John: The Hammerhead Dashboard allows to sync Routes to Karoo 2 seamlessly. The Routes imported/created on the Dashboard will sync to Karoo 2 instantly if there is an active internet connection.

The use case is that I have no Internet connection, but can create a route using offline maps on my phone, produce a GPX and then send that to the device. Looks like I wouldn't be able to do that.

@John: Yes, the existing companion App for Android is only to get text/Phone notifications on Karoo 2. As of now, we do not have an App that transfers Routes or other data to Karoo 2 over Bluetooth.

Can you not transfer a GPX file to the Karoo using a lead via the USB port?

Come on Karoo, this is a huge negative for your device.  Many of us spend weeks away from home with no internet, with bikes and a karoo that's useless for planning a ride.   A USB file transfer would work if that's easier for you.

And another half year gone, no internet still means useless karoo ...

How difficult can it be ?

How much less could they care ?

    Sad, Very Very Sad

(Btw, you can also not connect your Karoo to a Shimano Di2 ... only the most sold system in the world : how very childish of SRAM, I do not expect they would sell one unit more for this reason, they would sell less Karoo for this however)

@Jan Boos,  I share you displeasure on this topic.  However, I believe it was Shimano that stopped the connection to DI2, after SRAM bought karoo.

There have been at least a couple of instances of Hammerhead dashboard downtime this year already. Adding an option to transfer routes to the device without having to use the dashboard seems rather urgent to me.
