Still strange re-routing...
AnsweredHi.
I still don't understand the updated rerouting feature, which has been giving me problems since one of the updates from last summer (see screenshot). Why doesn't the K2 reroute to the original route when I'm already close to it?

One possibility could be simply due to a difference in map data on the unit vs. whatever was used for planning the route, the Karoo might think your planned route is not valid and therefore can’t use it for the reroute even if it will follow it as long as you stay on it.
(Why it does the reroute in the first place is a good question, but if it’s an open space, it’s easy enough to be far enough from the route line to be considered off route.)

I reported this years ago, and it was "fixed" (except it never was) and I keep suffering from it in the latest software release as per last week. Here, I was riding along a route, stopped for a second and laid my bike on the ground. The K2 thought I was going off route, and when I continued, it had generated a new route despite the fact that I was already following the original one.

In my opinion, it was a lot less of a mess three years ago. Far from perfect, but at least it picked somewhat reasonable routes rather than a combination of complex U-turns or dodgy singletrack (with “prefer asphalt” on) to bring you back to the nearest point on the planned route.
With the current version, all I can do is to ignore it. (Unfortunately having automap+navigation cues on also means I can’t use the map either much of the time when a reroute is active.)
