To the start of a route
Answered-
Hi Gerard, this article is about the device bringing me back to where I was started. That is not what I mean.
Let me explain. I’m loading a gpx file of an organized route. So it has a fixed starting point. When I leave my house, the Karoo brings me somewhere on the route (probably the nearest point from where I start). I want it brings me to the original starting point of the gpx file so I can start there and ride my gpx route. -
@Martin, I suspect it is possible.
- First start / press the ride you want on your K2.- 2nd when both (K2 and you) are active - use the 'Navigate to Start' instructions*).
- 3rd as soon as the starting point is reached, load (again) the route you want to follow and continue.

Alternatively you can load the route and drop a pin (long press) at the starting point and create a route from your current position to the pin, after reaching the starting point you should just select remove route which leaves you with the original route active. https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360051734934-Karoo-2-Drop-Pin-and-Navigating-to-POIs
My experience is the exact opposite, in that I find that the Karoo still tries to route me to the starting point for far too long instead of a meaningful point en route (usually I don’t need directions for that, but when I do, the pin drop works for that as well). I never thought anybody would actually want to actually go to the start of the route, but guess you learn something new every day...

Today I walked the dog, so time for a test!
I started the Karoo, loaded the route and start to walk.
First you see the intention of the Karoo; it brings me to the nearest point to start on the route. That's a great job, but not wat I want for now. I want to start at the initial start of the route, you can see the pin of start/finish.

Because my profile is MTB and offroad, it guides me through the woods. Nice!

Here you can clearly see it brings me to the nearest point to pick up the route.

Now I select, "to Start" and it brings me back to where I was started. So not to the start of the loaded route.

Then I tried the pin drop Anna suggested. I placed the pin at the initial start of the route and select "Nav to" (stil the route is loaded in the Karoo)

now there comes a purple line which guides me to the starting point I want.

So the pin drop did the trick! Thanks Anna!
One thing I did not test; when I arrive at the pin and directly start to follow the yellow route, does it work? Or do I have to delete the pin first?

By coincidence I also had the opportunity to test this at the beginning of my ride today. Looks like you have to hit the pin very precisely, I missed it by 10–20 m (it was on the bike path on the wrong side of the street) and kept getting rerouted back to the pin until I gave up after ~1 km and cancelled the purple route manually.
