Route yellow chevrons

Hi I have just completed my first rout on Karoo 2 had yellow pointer but no chevrons how do I get these to show many thanks

  You may be zoomed out too far.  Use the left hand lower button to zoom to one of the more detailed views.

  Is it possible to optionally turn off the chevrons? I find they clutter up the display.

  I've only done a few rides with my Karoo 2 but so far so good.
