New Karoo (2024) no audio except radar

I've set up my new Karoo with my BT headphones and went out for a 200km ride to test it, using a gpx route I shared to the companion app..

Everything works fine other than there is no audio - except radar alerts from the varia 515. 

So it appears the BT audio is working correctly, but there's something a bit wrong with the audio alerts.

Everything is set as on on the profile for alerts so it's not that.

Mid ride I disabled the BT headphones, and then as a second check removed them from the BT subsystem to see if that was the cause.

I still had no alerts coming from the Karoo, except for radar. No beep that there was a turn coming up, nothing... 

I then cancelled my gpx route and set the Karoo to route me home. Still no alerts even after reconnecting BT headphones. 

So it's not the gpx. 

Is there something else I can try?

I may factory reset to see if that fixes it, but I'd rather (as an android dev) see what I can do to debug and fix it first.

Any ideas, or anyone else noticed this with the new karoo?

I should note that I deleted all the profiles and set up new ones from scratch, but that shouldn't be the issue.

    Hi Ian, we have identified the issues with the Bluetooth audio alerts not working with the new Karoo. We are looking into this for a fix.

    Do you have a beta tester programme?
    I'd be happy to get involved if you do, disturbed that a 3rd generation product was launched with fundamental promoted features broken.

    Our Karoo 2 is not giving TBT Audio alerts either. Any ideas please?

    Playing with my replacement unit, I realised there's not TTS software on the karoo - so it's unlikely that TBT will work! 

    I've pushed the old Ivona TTS software and a couple of hacks with the settings, to enable MTP and I now know that I have TTS working - although trying to set the default text to speech crashes native android (not HH) accessibility settings.

    Just need to get out for a ride - to see if the TBT audio works as well.

    After testing. No tbt cues - so it's not just the lack of TTS that is preventing this.

    Well - with a fair bit of tinkering, I now have working TBT cues over bluetooth on my Karoo 3. 

    I sideloaded locus pro - which works fine with the inova tts voices, which is great - after boot I do have to start inova as that still won't set as the system tts, but that's a minor thing. 

    I've set a custom button on the bottom bar of locus - to open the normal HH launcher page, which means I can drop into the normal HH software to record and locus carries on in the background and switch back as needed via the launcher.

    so now I'm using locus pro for navigating and the HH software to record.  Worked a treat tonight!

    Hi All, Bluetooth Audio support was release in the software update from yesterday. Please update your new Karoo to enjoy this feature on your rides.
