Karoo3 Map seems laggy following a route

Running lastest firmware on K3  1.497.1916.20

1st time I've seen this: following a route, the bike position was always about 40-50m back from my physical location - and I wasn't going fast!

Every turn I got to a turn, the screen showed me about 40m back from my actual location. 

Looking back at the recorded ride, the GPS track follows the roads exactly, so maybe it's processing and displaying too slowly?  Any thoughts on what's going wrong here? I've never seen this behaviour before.
