byebye Karoo 2?

I have now been using the Karoo 2 for two years. It is without doubt the best GPS bike navigation device I have ever had. So I am very satisfied.
But now I am also disappointed. Yesterday, in a moment of inattention, I let the device slip through my fingers when I was detaching it from the handlebar mount. The device fell 90 cm to the ground for the very first time and is now completely dead!
The screen remains black. I have tried all kinds of reset combinations. No luck. Dead, dead, dead.
I can see that the background LED is lit, but that is all.
Is the device repairable or is it destined for the trash?

  I've had my Karoo 2 for about 2 years now. Working yesterday, now today dead, dead, dead. Makes no difference if charging cable in or out, Just a black screen and will not turn on. Maybe built in obsolescence?
