My Favero Assiom Uno pedals, which are single-sided power meter pedals, continues to report halved power. Historically, I have been forced to enable a hack which doubles the wattage reported, but as of today, the Hammerhead Karoo is the only device I use which is unable to properly read the stock power.
I reported this issue 5 months ago, though back then I experienced this issue with Strava on Android as well, but as they have dropped Bluetooth support, the Hammerhead Karoo is the only device that I am aware of still reporting bad data.
I have tested the wattage today to validate the power is still halved in the stock configuration. Again, this is a single sided power meter & the Hammerhead Karoo is only device not correctly reading power.
See the following Strava rides I did concurrently today to demonstrate:
- Hammerhead Karoo recording pedals over Bluetooth - Result: Halved power
- Zwift on MacBook Pro recording pedals over ANT+ - Result: Accurate power. My sprints are about 800 watts, which are a nice metric to validate
In this session, I completed multiple sprints at the START and at the END to use as easy milestones in the recording to cross-compare.
Sample pictures of the bootup screen, showing accurate power on Zwift with Karoo showing halved power.
This is frustrating, as enabling this setting results in incorrect power for my indoor riding and it requires using my cell phone app to connect the power meter to disable the setting. (This cannot be toggled in middle of a Trainer / Outdoor session due to limitations of single Bluetooth connection to pedals)
See below for the Total Power x2 hack Assioma introduced.
NOTE: This feature is disabled on stock devices. I previously had this enabled to allow accurate power for my riding season where my Hammerhead Karoo was the primary recording device.
