Not calculating ascent correctly

My Karoo consistently underreports the total accent on my ride. It does still show correctly in historical elevation, so I assume it is some sort of software issue. For example, I went on a hike with it (with autopause off). The karoo reported under 750 ft of ascent. When I calculated the ascent on Strava, it showed over 2000 ft. This has happened on rides as well.

  For us to isolate the issue better, I have a quick question for you. Do you think this issue is more prominent when you are riding at at a very low speed?
