K2 paired with Huawei P20pro Android 10.0.0, Notifications are a No-Go

Hi,

 

I've paired my K2 with my phone, K2 shows connected, K2 companion App shows Paired.

Sending an SMS to the phone does not show any notification on the K2.

Latest firmware 1.174.947.12 installed and factory reset already done once after firmware install.

Are there any logs on the companion app that would be helpful ?

  Ok... did another factory reset.  Removed the pairing info from the phone.  Got the wifi going, logged into my Karoo account, paired the K2 to my phone again.  This time the PIN did show up and it appears the notifications are working when my screen is not locked.

  It appears android takes the companion App into some kind of stand by once my phone locks the screen and goes into a pseudo sleep mode and then the notifications are not being transferred onto the K2.

  Ok, Battery optimization needs to be turned off on the phone, otherwise the phone puts the Companion App to sleep and the notifications stop working.  Now I disabled the Battery optimization for the Companion App and voila.. Notifications work now all the time.

  Apology for not responding to your post sooner. I see that you have figured out yourself and now the Karoo companion app is working for your Huawei P20pro.
