Paused ride ending by accident...resulting in chaos on ride
This has happened to me a lot...
I stop for a coffee, or go into a shop. I hit pause ride on the karoo 2 screen. I stick the unit in my back pocket of my jersey, or in my helmet.
Ive then gone back to the bike, and the screen is just back on the "home" screen. No way to enter back into the live ride, no route active. Its saved my ride as ending there. It seems that too often, active rides are ended when paused.
If I try to load the route as a new ride, it hangs on "rerouting" indefinitely as it seems it cant work out that Im 50km into the 100km ride, and cant use the GPS to figure that out.
Does Karoo 2 have a lock button somewhere to disable any brushes or touches while it is in a pocket, or stashed with other equipment in a helmet? It seems something so sensitive, an in active mode, needs a way to lock touches from affecting it until its in use again.
I had to navigate by phone, stopping at every turn...until I thought to load up my finished ride, and retrace my route in reverse....which wasnt the route I was meant to take, it was just the only way to get home.
After going through some of the ride ending options, it just seems to me that its too easy to accidentally end a ride while its paused. I dont know what others do, but as I said, mine goes in a jersey pocket with other stuff, or my helmet, again next to other things. It clearly, for me has the tendancy to get knocked, or brushed, and the way it works now, it ends my rides. Im going to have to do things differently, clearly, since there isnt a total "lock device" button, but this happening recently on my ride made for a very hellish day.
I think another solution would be to have a "load back in as active ride" option for when its accidentally cancelled a ride. I have the ride data saved, it shows where I "stopped", and it knows the route of where I want to go. I just need it to let me load it back in as "unfinished" instead of finished.

If you are going to carry your Karoo in your pocket when on a ride, you should use the rain lock feature to disable the touch screen. https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/25184031714203-Karoo-OS-Rain-Lock
