I always duel record to my Polar watch (and trippel record earlier with my Garmin 520) never had more then a 1-2 Watts in different, often because that I doesn't start/stop them at the same time.
I use shimano PM or Garmin Vector 3 power meter. No auto pause and always Ant+, never Bluetooth.

Question, are you using Ant+ on both devices?

Yes, all my sensors are ANT+ only. Have bluetooth turned off for sensors on the Karoo 2

Also average is one thing, but looking at the shape of the power graph there appear to be quite a few discrepancies, which is surprising for the same power meter. I've read different platforms have a different definition of average, but if its the same power meter shouldn't the shape be identical where both are getting power values? If there were some small areas where one wasn't getting anything at all, like differences in sensor connection status, that would be one thing, though not ideal.

I have both .fit files, I guess I'll open a support ticket and hopefully they can look.

Hmm, on my Karoo I have it set to include 0's in power, can't find the same setting at all in my Fenix 5 Plus. Although my older Edge 530 does have this setting. In any case I thought that only affected the average power it puts in the fit file itself. But it shouldn't affect the actual power values recorded for which I'm seeing discrepancies in the graph of power values between the two.

Strava seems to compute its own average anyway from the underlying power values in the fit file, and the average it displays is even lower than what Garmin claims by a bit.
