Imported routes from RWGPS and GPX files display "Map unavailable"
-
I purchased my Karoo 2 back in April 2021 after switching from a Garmin 810 for many years. Uploaded various routes in MA, NH & VT and had no issues using them. Last week, when vacationing in Maine, uploaded several routes prior to going to Maine as GPX files. Those routes worked fine. However, while in Maine, I created new routes through Strava and uploaded as GPX files to my Karoo2. I set out on one of the routes and seemed to work fine for first 20 of the 44 mi route and then suddenly, the map was gone while I was on a fire road (grave ride) (Karoo2 suddenly rebooted). I could no longer follow the planned route as it displayed "map unavailable". But, I could follow the local roads/trails and with the aid of my Iphone, managed to make my way back. I downloaded the Maine "offline" map successfully. (Indicates "downloaded" under "Maine"). Yet, when loading the route it still shows as Map unavailable. Fortunately, I had my garmin with me and used that instead for my remaining Maine rides. Very frustrating. Never had this issue with my Garmin 810.
Fast forward to back home in MA and imported a VT gravel loop from RWGPS and got the same "map unavailable" yet I have all New England maps downloaded on my Karoo 2. I deleted the routes from Karoo 2 and imported again from RWGPS to no avail. Very frustrating. This is a deal breaker if I can't get this resolved. Will go back to a Garmin. Please advise. Thanks.

Happens to me sometimes, but it only happens when my account sync has been "lost". Swipe down on the screen to see notifications and, if it is the same issue as mine, you'll see a prompt asking you to sign back in. Maps reappear when I do this. It's not obvious, I stumbled across it. Think it correlates to when an update is installed, but can't be sure...
Hope that helps.
