    I cannot get the Karoo 2 to record reliably. When I select a ride and then start off I get a Karoo is not recording notification at the top of the screen. If I tap on that alert it’s supposed to start recording but that doesn’t happen. What is wrong?

    Thanks for posting!

    Sorry to hear about the complication you have encountered during the ride.

    This notification pops up if you miss out on starting to record the activity or if you miss out to manually unpause the ride before continuing on your way. In these two cases, a red notification banner showing “Ride not recording” will be displayed. This only acts as a notification and not an action button i.e ride cannot be started by tapping the banner. You will have to press the bottom right button to start the ride.

    In the linked article, it says at the end:

    "Note: Tapping the alert would begin recording again and
    swiping the banner would dismiss the notification from the screen."

    What is it? The banner is active or not?

    If I tap the banner it does not start recording but perhaps I am swiping it. I learned that when the alert pops up just press the bottom right button to proceed with recording the ride.  Instructions are not clear. In addition it would be nice to get a confirmation that the recording has started. Human factors failure as I see it.
