Total elevation on Karoo 2 significantly exaggerates

I’ve seen others write about this known problem for years. I’ve been a loyal Karoo user for years but just over the last year the elevation gain numbers have gone wonky. For example, on a ride with 3000 feet of ascent, my unit will show 4500 feet or even more. My husband has the exact same unit and his numbers are accurate. Just fixing the numbers in Strava is unacceptable. I specifically train for climbing trips and need to have accurate data while on the road. Are there any solutions or do I need to trash my investment and move to Garmin?

  This is due to your device. I had the same problem with three devices; only the first device was ok. When it was checked for a defect, the theater went off. All three exchangers had the error with the height; it was always mentioned by the support that an update should come. This has not appeared until today and will not come. my brother-in-law was lucky and his Karoo 2 shows the height correctly. it is a hardeare problem with the barometric sensor, which measures the height. There are probably strings where some don't work properly. Either you are lucky or just unlucky and catch a device with a defective sensor. I now have the Karoo 3, where all Bosch sensors are perfect and they work perfectly. You will only be happy if you switch to the Karoo 3. GR

  This is not good news. I too have been a loyal user of Hammerhead Karoo 2. I had ditched my Garmin device and bragged about the Karoo 2. The laugh turns out on me. It is embarrassing how far off the elevation gains are. Shortly after purchasing my unit I also called Hammerhead support and was told an software update was coming. Well I guess Hammerhead miss lead me. What ashame,  I thought I had found a quality company. MR
