Yes - having the same issue. Ride seems to start in the background but cannot display any profile and effectively makes the Karoo useless. HH please sort the issue asap!

I can confirm this! I ran into the same app-crashing issue on my Karoo 3 after updating to version 1.652.2514. The device has become unusable. A hard reboot—holding down the power button for 15–20 seconds—doesn't help. Please fix this.

For what it's worth, I tried again today and it worked normally. I suspect there's an issue with downloading the new personal heatmaps (my account certainly would have quite a lot of that data).

Perhaps the failure to start was because the Karoo couldn't handle downloading those while recording a ride.

And it was back again this morning. This time, after rebooting, I checked Settings->Offline Maps and it showed downloading the personal heatmap layer. I waited for that to finish and it worked.

I’d suggest disabling it by tapping the flame icon in the upper right corner of the Offline Maps screen and removing the personal heatmap layer.

Same for me this morning. I left it running in the background, then when I got home I tried a press and hold 20-30 sec on power button. When it rebooted all good and ride had been saved

Same for me. Group ride startet and I for the first 5 km I tried to make it work while riding … ride was recording (found that out later) but it was unable to show the map and always said that the application stopped working/crashing (don't now what exactly it says in English) when I chose my profile from the home screen.. Also saw that the Karoo couldn't connect to my phone.

After the ride I connected wifi via mobile hotspot and like 10 seconds later I was able to see the map and everything worked normal. Seemed like it had to download something (maybe the heat maps as @Richard Cox said) that kept it from showing the map and starting the profile.
