Trouble with re-routing on self crossing route

I personally had the same issue on a self crossing route, looking like an 8-shape loop. The re-routing engine suggested a red route with a shortcut to go back home to stop me entering the second part of the loop.

I had to pause riding and remove the route, and had it again to continue in the right direction. I could continue as expected and my Karoo kept recording the ride without loosing the first part that was already ridden.

Any views on this from other users?

Here is the route to illustrate :

Despite all the other problems with rerouting, I can’t say that I have experienced anything unexpected specifically related to routes like this when I have used them. And anyway if you decide to do things in a different order, the Karoo figures out which part of the route you are on pretty quickly (maybe after ~500 m).

My best guess would be that there was something a bit off with your route (or your GPS signal) so that the Karoo never saw you as riding actually on the route (already something like road vs roadside bike path seems to be too much in many situations) at the crucial section and then tried to do what it saw as the next best thing.

I have this problem also on routes that loop about. The re-route feature should be able to be turned off or easily toggled.
