The Karoo has a specialist, daylight-visible screen that is three times the cost of a typical smartphone screen. It incorporates technology that reflects sunlight and ultra-high efficiency backlighting.
It has the second highest resolution for a bike computer screen at 3.5” (640x480 - 229 Pixels per inch.) and is complemented with a multi-point capacitive touchscreen.
Karoo is the first bike computer to accommodate a full-size keyboard. No more hunt-and-peck type input. It has a capacitive touchscreen with a tailored touch recognition algorithm. The screen has active water droplet rejection meaning that it is not affected by water droplets and swipes can still be recognized.
We have a tidy little light sensor that tucks into the top of our screen. We are able to detect ambient light conditions and auto-adjust backlighting for maximum battery life savings.
At present we suggest using a fixed, low brightness setting for optimal battery life. That way the auto-dimming won't dial way up in really bright environments.
