If you are riding in dirty or extreme conditions, you may need to clean your Karoo to keep it in optimal working condition. If your Karoo appears dirty or has sweat, mud, energy drink or other contaminants on it – it’s time to clean your Karoo.
Notice: Your Karoo can be cleaned and is IP67 rated – when the USB-C cover is installed, the entire computer is IP67 rated. It is crucial that the USB-C port remains dry at all times. If you have water in your USB-C port, immediately turn off your Karoo and allow the port to air dry.
Cleaning Procedure:
When cleaning your Karoo, start with a damp cloth and wipe all excess contaminants from the exterior, including the display, buttons and Hammerhead Mounting System.
If your Karoo requires further cleaning, turn off your Karoo and fill a large bowl or container with water and a mild soap mixture. Ensure the USB-C port cover is fully installed and submerge the Karoo in the water. Gently shake the Karoo in the soapy water mixture for 10 seconds and actuate the buttons with multiple short-presses to free any contaminants.
After cleaning, place your Karoo in a warm, dry spot to ensure it is dry before using again. You can speed up the drying process by wiping down all excess water and having a fan gently blow dry air onto your Karoo.
