    +1 For this.

My solution would be to have a "Strava Segments On/Off" button in the pull-down menu at the top. that way you can turn the segments on and off during a ride, as and when you want them.

Currently, you have to delve deep into the settings - something which is a pain to do on the fly (i.e. at a junction or traffic light)

    Hi,

The fact that they can't be hidden is a huge problem on a big climb.  My local col takes me well over an hour to climb, and during that time half my screen is hidden by the segment.

On the one hand I *want* to see it so that I can see how I'm doing, but on the other hand I'd like to be able to reduce it to a small bar at the bottom of the screen when I want it out of the way.

Can we have the option of toggling between the current view and a small one?

How about making the strava segment  thing into a separate layout?

When you're not on a segment it shows "upcoming segments".

When you are on a segment it shows the key features as seen on the popup, plus a few other useful numbers (you can select).

When you reach a segment, you get a pop up notification, which if you select it, takes you to the strava layout.

I believe Strava Live Segment data can be hidden from view by swiping down when it appears:

    https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360051580494--Strava-Live-Segments-

You can swipe down the SLS Overlay if you wish to see your data-fields or TBT instructions.

It's about 2/3 of the way down that page.

That is true, But some days, or for some sections of the ride, I and others may not want them popping up at all.

Strava segments mess with the use of the lapbutton, for example, which is what i prefer to use in the park (there's no chance of taking the KOM, or even my own PR most of the time).

Yes, agreed it would be nice to be able to turn them off via the Quick Settings menu to save digging around in Settings and to provide easy access mid-ride (should I want to enable/disable Strava segments mid-ride).

    Hi,

I just received my Karoo 2, playing with the settings, and one of my first action was to link my Strava account to have access to the Live Segments. BUUUT, I was then notified that I need a premium Strava account to have the feature enabled !? What a disappointing fact !

Could you please add the same feature with the segments from RideWithGPS !? I already created a bunch of segments there, where I can compare my times to other riders without to pay an extra subscription to Strava...

I'm not sure where you've been for the last 9 months, but it's always been like that.

You can find the Release Notes for Build Version 1.128.808.3 (7th May 2020) here:

    https://www.hammerhead.io/blogs/change-logs/karoo-software-build-version-1-128-808-3

    Second line:

A Strava Summit account is required to use Live Segments

Do you mean that it's possible to have Live Segments from RideWithGPS ?

Or are you telling me that it's been required for 9 months to have a Strava Premium account to have the Live Segments feature, yet you didn't have the time to think about the opportunity to get that feature from RideWithGPS ?

OK, you prefer to ignore my questions and comments...

Last one, for consistency: can you tell me how to reset the device, so I can get it back to you, using my 45 trial days period ?

First of all, I don't work for Hammerhead and am just another Karoo user responding to user questions.

Strave Live Segments have required a Strava Summit account for the last 9 months, yes. It's always been that way. The release notes make this very clear:

A Strava Summit account is required to use Live Segments

I don't believe it's possible to have live segments on RwGPS on the Karoo. If you want this, I recommend you Submit a request, using the "Submit a request" link at the top of this page.

There is an option to Factory reset the device under Settings. Or, you could look in the online help to arrive at this page which tells you how to perform a hard reset:

    https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360058853573-Performing-a-Hard-Reset-on-your-Karoo-2

I don't know what the process is for returning a Karoo within the 45 day trial period; You would probably need to submit a request for this.
