It is possible to trigger a factory reset by pressing buttons B, C, and D together:

It would seem unlikely that you've held all three buttons down for long enough to cause this to happen but it's a possibility.

I know that's possible, but I didn't do that.  I am more than certain that hasn't happened between my last 2 rides.  I have been conscious of the button locations since noticing that I tend to press them accidentally when removing the device, slipping it through the lanyard.

I think the "iPhone deck of browser tabs in Safari" you refer to is the standard Android quit apps view, and looks like this:

You get this when you hold down button D.

Thanks Steve!  That's exactly what I got.  Didn't know I could app switch like that. All I did after that happened was power the unit down.

Yes, I think this is the standard Android app switching UI, kind of like the iOS one but more ugly and in vertical carousel format, rather than a horizontal carousel format.

Possibly worth raising a support case if your device is somehow going into factory reset mode by itself. Doesn't sound like an ideal situation to have occurring regularly. Could be a sticky button or something.

I don't actually get to see the reset, or maybe I'm not paying enough attention.  I turn it on and finish a couple of things before getting on the bike, and it's sitting there like I just unboxed it and powered it up.  Very frustrating considering I'm holding the ride up at that point

Hi All, we have received similar but rare requests from other users. At this time, we are aware of it but unsure of the root cause - other than few users acknowledging, that this could have happened due to button presses when removing the mount from the handlebars.
