Hi Kenneth, there was a change on iOS 18 from Apple's end, which is why the K2 is still working on iOS 17. It has taken a bit of time to understand and investigate the Apple software changes and then work on our adaptations. Good news is we are ready to release it to the ATG this week and everyone else gets the Software update fix next week, if there are no further bugs identified during testing.

Upgrading to iOS 18.1 hasn’t resolved the issue. Could you please assist us in finding a solution? I suggest integrating Karoo 2 into the iOS app to help address this problem.

Update came out today that Ali was talking about and it seems like the issue is resolved. Be sure to check that it actually loads the update. Mine said it was installing and then didn't so I had to force it, then it still didn't work and I reset my Karoo and it finally starting connecting.

    Thanks for the update, Ben.

If after installing the latest update, the Karoo 2 doesn't connect to your phone immediately. Try to remove the Karoo 2 from your Phone's bluetooth setting and start a fresh connection. That should work. Let us know if there are still issues with the connection.

I’m on 18.2 and can’t connect to my Karoo 2. I deleted Karoo on the phone but still shows it as a non connected device on the Karoo. Is there a way to delete it? I’d prefer not to reset the Karoo.

Once you have deleted the Karoo from your iPhone's Bluetooth list, go to the Phone pairing on the Karoo and click on '+' to add a new iPhone and start the search again. It is not possible to delete the phone from Karoo.

I have upgraded phones and therefore no way do forget old connection to Karoo. Select connect new phone and Karoo does not appear as an available device to connect to?

However had thought that new iPhone has same name as old one so temporarily changed iPhone name and then on starting pairing Karoo 2 appeared. I didn’t make the connection but went back and reverted the iPhone name as it was (& as I wanted it) and Karoo 2 still appeared for connection and now successfully reconnected.

note that this was just using Bluetooth connection and not the companion app.

Miraculously the connection worked today. My Karoo 2 appeared in the list on my iPhone and connected. I have done nothing special, neither any further updates on the phone nor on the Karoo.

Suggestions for those of us who still are not getting it to pair? New phone with updated iOS, updated Karoo 2 software. Nothing shows in phone’s Bluetooth when Karoo is in pair mode.

I can confirm the update allowed my iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.1 to connect to the Karoo 2 and see notifications on my unit again. Thank you for getting this done.

If we could have an iOS companion app that would allow heart rate from Apple Watch, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi David. Sounds like your problem was like mine (4 messages up). My Karoo still had a phone registered to it which I no longer had. New iPhone would not show the Karoo to connect to it through the ‘Pair new phone’ option.
I temporarily renamed my new iPhone to a different name and the Karoo then appeared as an available Bluetooth connection. I didnt connect at this point but changed phone name back and Karoo still available to connect to. Then connected ok.

Hi Mark, so your phone can’t be removed from the list? Why is it not an option to delete delete previously added devices, I’m genuinely baffled that such elaborate steps have to be undergone for such a basic thing.

Hi everyone. If you still cannot connect your iOS 18 device after latest Karoo 2 updates you can try the solution that worked for me. I think in my case I wasn't able to connect a new iOS 18 device, because there was another device that was already paired to my Karoo and there is no option to delete it, only button add a new one, no matter what I've tried to do on Karoo or on iPhone side Karoo was not visible by iPhone. So decided to do a Factory reset of a Karoo 2 device and that did the trick. Now my Iphone with iOS18 see the Karoo 2 device and able to pair succeessfully.
Also great news that after the factory reset I didn't lost any data, everything was restored from Hammerhead cloud.

A factory reset to connect to Bluetooth shouldn’t be a viable approach, this just has to be fixed properly, previous entries need to be able to be removed.

Hi Dijbaan. I agree with you. I’m not sure why I had to go through that process to reconnect a new phone of the same name & can’t delete any existing ones from the Karoo. I am a customer like yourself I’m afraid.

I have just purchased the Karoo 2 and doing the initial setup. Cannot pair with my iPhone using iOS 18.1.1. Is there a software fix coming to the Karoo 2 for this??

Hi Michael, please forget the Karoo 2 from your phone and try a fresh connection. That has worked for riders facing this issue.

Robert, please make sure your Karoo 2 is on the latest version. The fix was already release few weeks back.

If you are still facing the issues, please submit a ticket to us: https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/requests/new
