Karoo 2 - iOS 18 bluetooth connection
I have updated my iPhone 15 Pro to iOS 18 and since then, I am not able to connect my phone to Karoo 2. I have tried many troubleshooting to turn the bluetooth on and off including reseting the Karoo 2 to factory setting and still have issues. I have found on Reddit that there are some other with the same issues on iOS 18 (final versions and beta versions). Any idea as to what can be done? Thanks

Hi Kenneth, there was a change on iOS 18 from Apple's end, which is why the K2 is still working on iOS 17. It has taken a bit of time to understand and investigate the Apple software changes and then work on our adaptations. Good news is we are ready to release it to the ATG this week and everyone else gets the Software update fix next week, if there are no further bugs identified during testing.

Update came out today that Ali was talking about and it seems like the issue is resolved. Be sure to check that it actually loads the update. Mine said it was installing and then didn't so I had to force it, then it still didn't work and I reset my Karoo and it finally starting connecting.

Thanks for the update, Ben.
If after installing the latest update, the Karoo 2 doesn't connect to your phone immediately. Try to remove the Karoo 2 from your Phone's bluetooth setting and start a fresh connection. That should work. Let us know if there are still issues with the connection.

I have upgraded phones and therefore no way do forget old connection to Karoo. Select connect new phone and Karoo does not appear as an available device to connect to?
However had thought that new iPhone has same name as old one so temporarily changed iPhone name and then on starting pairing Karoo 2 appeared. I didn’t make the connection but went back and reverted the iPhone name as it was (& as I wanted it) and Karoo 2 still appeared for connection and now successfully reconnected.
note that this was just using Bluetooth connection and not the companion app.

Hi David. Sounds like your problem was like mine (4 messages up). My Karoo still had a phone registered to it which I no longer had. New iPhone would not show the Karoo to connect to it through the ‘Pair new phone’ option.
I temporarily renamed my new iPhone to a different name and the Karoo then appeared as an available Bluetooth connection. I didnt connect at this point but changed phone name back and Karoo still available to connect to. Then connected ok. -
Hi everyone. If you still cannot connect your iOS 18 device after latest Karoo 2 updates you can try the solution that worked for me. I think in my case I wasn't able to connect a new iOS 18 device, because there was another device that was already paired to my Karoo and there is no option to delete it, only button add a new one, no matter what I've tried to do on Karoo or on iPhone side Karoo was not visible by iPhone. So decided to do a Factory reset of a Karoo 2 device and that did the trick. Now my Iphone with iOS18 see the Karoo 2 device and able to pair succeessfully.
Also great news that after the factory reset I didn't lost any data, everything was restored from Hammerhead cloud. -
Hi Michael, please forget the Karoo 2 from your phone and try a fresh connection. That has worked for riders facing this issue.
Robert, please make sure your Karoo 2 is on the latest version. The fix was already release few weeks back.
