Karoo 3 - Update from 1.443.1750.20 to 1.548.2092.20 fails ("download failed")

Hi All,

I’ve recently purchased a brand new Hammerhead Karoo (Karoo 3) and encountered a problem while trying to install the first software update.

My device is currently running version 1.443.1750.20, and I'm attempting to update it to 1.548.2092.20, but every time I try to force the update check and download, I receive a "download failed" error.

The Karoo is successfully connected to my home Wi-Fi network and had no issues authenticating during the initial setup and login. However, the update simply won’t download.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

• Multiple reboots

• Factory reset via system settings

• Verified my router’s settings (no MAC or IP filtering, no bandwidth limits (bandwidth set to Auto))

Everything looks fine on my end, and other devices are connecting and downloading without any issues. Could you please advise on how to proceed?

  I'm having the exact same problem, new Karoo 3, trying to update from 1.544.2081.20 to 1.548.2029.20 but 'download failed'. have tried the same checks as you.

  Update! Server worked, problem solved!

   

   

  Same here, brand new Karoo (3), start-up / set-up for the first time, Update available, tried to Downloading the latest software, via home wifi and mobil hotspot, but it freeze, nothing happens over hours

  I opened a ticket yesterday (over 24 hours ago) and was advised me that there is a problem with the provider that hosts their updates. I get that things happen but most of us impacted have just received our Karoo and basically have an unusable device. Customer impacted outages lasting more than a day are a sign of serious issues.

  Just seen there is a post in the general discussion thread stating that hammerhead are aware of the update issues and are working to resolve the problem.

  Looks like the issue is resolved. Update has now installed okay. Not a good start however to my 1st experience of a Hammerhead product.

  Today another download failure.

  I’ve run into an update issue. It came out of the box running version 1.443.1750.20; the Karoo 3 detects the new update (1.638.2460.20) but won't install it. There are no error messages—literally nothing happens when I press the "Download" button. I waited two months for the device to arrive, and now it’s impossible to use properly; I’m really frustrated.
