Stuck in bootscreen
AnsweredYes, I'm stupid.
I did some tests on changing the DPI and hiding the notification. The reason is to use the Karoo while zwifting. The zwift companion app is not optimized for the Karoos screen.
At some point I thought it was good to just factory reset my device. Now I'm stuck on the bootscreen. I also saw the update available icon and I'm not sure if I updated without reboot. I guess I did and that's why I am stuck at the bootscreen (leaving in a update after boot state and remove the temp files)
In the past I had saved the downloaded update zip of the system so I could load that using the recovery. So can I get the latest update zip? (send a link by mail)
Or should I do something else to recover from this state?

Hi Onno,
Sorry to hear that your Karoo is not turning on as intended. I can help you with this.
The unit being stuck in a boot loop is an issue that's rare but can be easily resolved.
Please leave the unit without charging till it runs out of battery and then charge it to 100%(Do not power ON). Once at 100%, remove the charging cable and turn it ON.
If this issue still persists, please try performing a hard reset on your Karoo and see if that helps.

Hi Hari,
Thanks for your answer.
I forgot to say I can turn it off (keep power button pressed) and boot to recovery or fastboot. I already did a hard reset but no luck either.
That's why I asked for the OTA. So I can load the firmware using recovery. Or if needed flash all images separately using fastboot. -
My uniit is stuck in an endless reboot loop. It turns black and then the Hammerhead logo turns up. Then it turns black and round it goes.
I tried to hard reset the unit without success.
When I select Recovery mode menu by long-pressing the C-button and I never come to Recover menu. When I long-press the Hammerhead logo appears, partly covered by the previous boot menu.

Hi Hakan, Sorry for the trouble caused to you.
Not sure if you have already tried this. If not, could you please try this workaround? Please leave the unit without charging until it runs out of battery and turns off. The ideal goal is to reach a point where the Karoo doesn't turn ON after you doing multiple Power ON/OFF attempts. You may need to turn it off and turn it on a couple of more times to reach a point where the Karoo no longer turns ON. Then charge it to 100%(Do not power ON). Once at 100%, remove the charging cable and turn it ON.
Let me know if this works for you or not. In this way, we can take the next course of action.

This has now happened to me this morning - stuck in Hammerhead black screen / black screen cycle and unresponsive to anything else. Won't respond to any attept at re-boot or reset ... please advise Hari.
I'm off out to ride with my old G 810 - the map will seem 5hit but at least it is working!
