    Years ago, with the Garmin and Wahoo units, when one froze up, the process to force a restart was to push and hold the start button for 30 seconds or so.  Or, hold it in until you got a message that it was restarting. Apparently that would "ground" any static electricity that was causing the problem. 

    They only crashed on me a few times, but that trick worked.  I don't know if Hammerhead even programmed that method in with the K2. Although I guess they should have.

    I only offer it as a suggestion.  Let us know what happened.

    Hi James. Thanks for your suggestion. I did however try that, holding the Start/Off button for increasing periods of time but to no avail. The unit eventually ran out of battery so am now recharging, which seems to be going ok, and I’ll then see if the unit responds to being turned on once fully charged.

    Charging fully after it had run itself flat seems to have rebooted it. So, all’s well now, - just a pain in the backside when banking on using it on a route but then have to rely on others.
