Karoo 2 Won't Turn On
AnsweredI've used my Karoo 2 a handful of times. Today I've tried to turn it on and it's completely blank, no sign of life. I have changed charger and cable and same issue. I tried a hard reset and the Hammerhead logo screen pops up for about a quarter of a second and then disappears. Advice please?

Same as what happened to me. Read above. iPad charger not iPhone charger. Hard reset as per instructions online. Not been an issue since.
Also see here: https://support.hammerhead.io/hc/en-us/articles/360058770653-Charging-Karoo-2
I also charge with a Google Pixel supplied charger rated DC 5V 3A 18W.
Good luck.

I've only had mine for a few rides and also having this issue.
It seems like the root cause is the Karoo 2 isn't going into any kind of sleep mode and it drains itself down to nothing, and then it needs the electronic equivalent of a doctor using a defibrillator to wake it back up again.
Using a macbook to charge it won't do it, nor will a basic USB charger, nor will an Anker Powercore 5000 (up to 2A). To get that jolt it needs, I found it requires at least 2.1 Amp at 5V. This is obviously a problem Hammerhead needs to look into.
The fact that a hard reset jolts it back to life shows there is a software solution, they could implement a nicer "soft reset" that does the jolt without deleting everything. Or they could give us an option to restore *everything* after a hard reset so it's not such a pain, but that would require an internet connection and that won't always be available when you're about to start a ride and realize your device won't turn on. Most power bricks aren't putting out 2.1V+

I took my karoo 2 straight out of the box today and it was stone dead.
Not a good start when paying 399 Euros for a product that doesn't work.
I think it´s unserius if you have to start with factory resets and hard restarts
on a brand new product, I expect that it work correctly upon delivery.
Do I dare to keep? -
I have a one week old Karoo 2 everything seemed fine until last night when I plugged the unit in to my laptop usb port to charge over night. This morning the unit is unresponsive in all ways.
I have tried several different charging bricks and get the same result. When I first plug in the unit it just blinks on and off with the Hammerhead text and logo screen. After a few minutes it will stop flashing and just be a blank screen, like its off.
None of the hard buttons are responsive, it does not show the charging screen, no boot, no reboot, no hard reset.
I am super disappointed especially as I am traveling for a couple weeks a kind of screwed with out the routes I had downloaded.Had high hopes for this device but looks like I am going to have to over night a new Garmin and return this thing.
